Like many dog professionals, I dreamed of having my own facility. Not the typical big empty room, but something wild and alive. I imagined a space with winding sensory gardens for sniffing, dig pits for unearthing treasures, green space and wooded areas for exploration, and quiet spots for decompression and healing. It would be a command-free zone, where dogs could experience complete autonomy.

In 2022, I found what will one day become the Souly Center. Not far from my home, this major fixer upper on three trash-covered acres spoke to my soul. My husband, Harvey, saw all the warning signs, but still willingly supported my dream and vision. He and his Risen Home & Roof Repair team have been tackling the repairs of the house, uncovering a new hidden headache behind every window, door, wall and floor.

As if the renovations weren't bad enough, three years later and we're still working through the red tape of the planning department. As the October 2025 hearing with the planning board approaches, I am cautiously hopeful. If all goes well, we will have a soft opening by December 2025 and a grand opening celebration in the spring of 2026. What once lived only in my imagination may finally come to life!
